Teeth cleaning
It is clear that oral hygiene is very important for the general oral health and the whole body. Our main goal is to underline the value of check-ups and of the right way to take care of our teeth.
Many people have certain symptoms that don’t necessarily come along with pain, but still show that something is wrong. Such indications can be:
- Ο Red, swollen gums
- Gums that bleed and hurt by brushing
- Loose gums, gums that have receded
- Loose teeth or teeth shifting around
- Persistent bad breath
Dental plaque hosts bacteria that can cause gingivitis, periodontitis and decay.
Depending on each case, the teeth should be checked and cleaned by a professional every six months or every year.
Periodontitis is sometimes painless and the symptoms are not always visible.
Gingivitis can be easily treated with a thorough cleaning. However, if it remains untreated for a long time, it causes periodontitis. Bacteria and plaque affect the bone that supports the teeth, gums recede and teeth have weak support. Periodontitis should be treated without delay and treatment requires 3-4 appointments.
Cleaning and polishing is done with ultrasonic instruments, polishing pastes and air-powder. Pigments are removed and teeth are cleaner, brighter and retain their natural colour.
